At this point a fire destroyed their primary residence of Dalkeith House, and Aberdour became their main residence until 1725. The family moved into Aberdour House nearby, and Aberdour Castle was left to ruin.Map and directionsToday Aberdour Castle is a Historic Scotland property and is open to the public all year round.
