Borve Castle is a ruined 14th century tower house on the island of Benbecula in the Western
Isles of Scotland.

History of Borve CastleThe tower was built by Amie MacRuari, wife of John of Islay, at some point
between 1344 and 1363 and the Macdonalds of Benbecula inhabited Borve Castle until the
early 17th century.
The tower is 9 metres high and 18m x 11m across. The walls of this fortalice are 2.7m thick
and the entrance at one point let into the second floor of this three story tower. Borve Castle
is a Scheduled Monument.
